Specialty Bras, Bullet Bras, and Pseudo Bras
By BeatsMe
Specialty Bras
Specialty bras are used by women with special needs. Pregnant women, women with newborn babies, and women with ailments and limited mobility and dexterity wear specialty bras to move around more comfortably. Ordinary, conventional bras can still be worn but they’ll be less convenient.
Arthritis bras are made for women who have arthritis or other ailments that limit dexterity. Women with arthritis usually have difficulty getting dressed by themselves due to the fact that their mobility becomes limited because of their ailment. A regular bra can add to that difficulty. Arthritis bras are therefore a better choice of underwear because they are easier to put on for anyone who has limited dexterity. Arthritis bras may come with front closures and Velcro and large ‘hook n eye’ fastener to make them easier to fasten.
Maternity bras are used by pregnant women. Pregnant women’s breasts are usually different because their breasts get bigger during pregnancy. A good maternity bra should be adjustable and expandable that can provide space for breast growth during pregnancy. A good quality maternity bra should give comfort for pregnant women and its adjustable feature should be flexible enough to be able to adjust to a woman’s changing breasts.
Nursing bras are used by breastfeeding mothers. Breastfeeding is difficult enough for a woman. And a regular bra is just not going to provide any comfort or convenience for a breastfeeding mother. Nursing bras have drop down cups so that babies can be fed easily when it’s time for them to be fed. A good nursing bra should provide an easy to manage drop down cups so that nursing mothers can conveniently feed their babies anytime, anywhere.
Mastectomy bras are used by women who had undergone breast removal. Most women who have to undergo mastectomy usually lose their confidence and a mastectomy bra may just help them regain their confidence. Mastectomy bras have pockets on the inside which help keep the prosthetic breast in place and simulate the existence of breasts.
Bullet bras
I would assume that many of today’s women wouldn’t want to be caught dead wearing one of these. Bullet bras are cone shaped bras that have pointed pads and cups. These types of bras have been made famous during 1940’s up to 1960’s. Today, however, it may look ridiculous to be used as an undergarment for casual or formal wear.
Pseudo Bras
Pseudo bras look like real bras but are not bras in the true sense. Bras are basically designed to give support and coverage to the woman’s breasts. Shelf bras and peephole bras are brassieres that do not provide support to the breasts. They are used as teasers for women who wish to tease their partners or husbands or as strippers’ outfits.
Shelf bras cover only the lower part of the breasts, leaving the upper part of the breasts exposed. Some may just be made of straps around the breasts without giving them any coverage at all, leaving the whole breasts exposed.
Peephole bras may look like a real bra but it has holes at the center leaving the middle part of the breasts exposed.

Hi BKCreative, a bullet bra? Are you serious? Did you see how ridiculous the pictures are (not the models, the bras)? And I thought for a while there that bullet bras were designed for humor. :) Sorry to people who find this bra fashionable.
I know what you mean about expensive bras. They do tend to know more about a woman's figure, it shows on their products.
A size G? I can hardly understand what DD is, just how big of a bra is G? :0
Btw, thanks for sharing your experience about bras. Some women do tend to know more about what they should look for, others are quite clueless about what they want. Just wear something to cover up and go. ;)
Not safe for work :) Hope all is fine in Philippines and I hope you area is not affected by all the recent events around it.
Hi Cgull, what did you mean? It is very safe for work. :D Even Amazon is selling them. ;)
Actually, we were slightly affected. Thanks. :)
LOL, yes even the manager takes a peek at it :), glad to see you guys are not affected. Cheers :)
Hi Cgull8m, thanks. :)
When is comes to wearing sexy lingerie, women need to be aware of their body type and how it applies to what they wear. Most women have certain things they like about their body and other things that they don’t like. Whether you like it or not, this is just a fact of life.
Hi. You've said it right. Thanks for coming by and for your input. :)

What a great idea for a hub! I'm a NYer and have never found the perfect bra although La Perla came close - beautiful but expensive - quality at its best.
Meanwhile, here bras tend to be small, you are lucky to find a C yet we are the biggest people on earth! It was only while I was in Ireland about 7 years ago that I decided to shop for a bra - and wow! - an entire floor dedicated to bras with women waiting to measure you if you want, sizes A-G with everything in between. I got the best bra of my life - but you tend to have a favorite and wear it constantly - but it held up (literally) for years.
I've pretty much given up on the perfect bra - and suffer in silence! Sigh! Perhaps I'll get a bullet bra.
Great hub! Thanks!
